The following is a list of Leisure Freak Tommy’s Favorites and Recommendations for retirement calculator Links and some Affiliate Sites. All of the below are sites and products that I recommend and use myself.
My Favorites and Recommendations
Recommended Calculators
These links are calculators that I use and highly recommend:
FIRECalc.com
A different kind of retirement calculator. This calculator allows you to change your investment strategy, when and how much you expect from Social Security, and various spending and investment models. This is a Monte Carlo type calculator which uses 113 investment cycles to find the likelihood of your retirement funding success for the years of retirement you entered.
Immediate Annuities.com
An advanced annuity calculator. You can calculate either how much monthly income you’ll receive from an Investment amount you enter or how much you’ll need to invest in order to receive the Monthly Income amount you enter.
QLAC – Qualified Longevity Annuity Contract by annuities.com
This calculator works the same way as their main annuity calculator but in this case is about QLAC annuities which are a US Treasury approved type of differed-longevity annuity.
Livingto100.com
A free longevity calculator that we used to find our longevity prediction is Livingto100.com. You honestly enter in your life’s specific personal aspects. Health and health habits, vices, your family history, etc. Answer approximately 40 questions and it will give you an educated age prediction for your longevity.
IRScalculators.com/tax calculator
One of the things I try to do is not only plan ahead for my tax bracket but also withholding only enough federal income tax to closely cover my tax obligation for the year. My goal is to endup only owing a couple of hundred dollars at most and never ending up waiting on a federal income tax refund. This free IRS tax calculator gets me as close I can so that I can adjust my withholding as our taxable retirement income changes.
There is a lot of decisions to make regarding when it is best for us to start our earned Social Security benefit. OpenSocialSecurity.com is a free online calculator and can answer a lot of those questions.
Retirement Job Search Site
Snag-a-Job
I have used the Snag-a-Job search engines to look for Early Retirement Opportunities and it is very easy to navigate and get the targeted results I was looking for. Having my specific job alerts set to email me new postings saved me time. There are many job search engines on the web but Snag-a-Job is one I recommend to use and create your free account on.
Personal Finance and Retirement Resource Sites
A comprehensive guide to inheritance and IRA issues by Birch Gold Group. Not only for when we must deal with the loss of a loved one, but to clearly complete our own financial plan.
Affiliate Sites Whose Products and Services I use and recommend.
bluehost unlimited web hosting
Simply the easiest and super economical choice for your web site and/or blog. Believe me, I had no experience creating a website. But having bluehost as my host and their compatibility with WordPress made it one of the easiest ways to get a web site up and functional in a single sitting.
Life Extension vitamins and supplements
(No longer an affiliate but I still use stand behind) I have been a customer of Life Extension for many years and use their products daily. You get discounts and specials while buying the best. Not only are they quality products but they also put out the latest information about health in their magazines and email newsletters so you can educate yourself and stay healthy.
Tello Mobile: No more paying too much for great wireless service.
(No longer an affiliate but I still use stand behind) We love our Tello wireless service. They offer flexible plans to meet your needs. They use the Sprint network and have excellent coverage where we live. We’re using unlimited talk and text with 1GB data a month for $10. They also allow for prepaying extra money in the account for times when we know we may go over in data usage. For instance when traveling and we have less access to Wifi. As we watch our usage on their easy to navigate dashboard we can change at anytime to a different service level aligned with our needs. For instance we may be able to change to a lower cost service of 100 min talk, unlimited text, and 1GB data for only $7 a month. If 1GB data isn’t enough we can change that to 2GB or higher for excellent low rates.
Kohl’s
We use Kohl’s in both storefront and online. Their sales are huge money savers. Sometimes things we need aren’t stocked in our sizes so we just shop from home. We especially take advantage of their online discounted items.
Walmart
Walmart is well known for discounts to save all of us money. We have found many needed and specialty items using Walmart online that they don’t carry in their stores. Their option to have items shipped for free to the Walmart location you choose is a nifty perk that we have used many times.
Disclosure: Your purchase of products or services by clicking any Leisure Freak Affiliate links or ads will come at no additional cost to you and include all available discounts. I may receive a small commission that helps support the cost of LeisureFreak.com. See more about Advertisers and Sponsors on the Disclaimer page.
